YEAR TWO GOT EVEN LOUDER

PORTLAND, Ore. —The Portland Bangers came into 2026 with a new home, a stronger squad and a simple question to answer: could the weird little soccer club Portland embraced in its first summer actually get bigger?

Yeah. It could.

SIX STRAIGHT. WHY NOT?

The Bangers didn't ease into year two.

They won their first six matches of the 2026 season, immediately establishing themselves as one of the teams to watch in the country.

For a club built around bangers, beers and having a very good time, there was also some seriously good soccer happening.

That has always been part of the idea.

The Bangers were created to give high-level players a place to compete during the summer while building something around the game that felt distinctly Portland. Not another traditional soccer experience.  

Something louder, closer and a lot more fun.

A NEW HOME IN SOUTHEAST PORTLAND

The biggest change in 2026 happened before the first whistle.

The Bangers moved to Lents Park, next door to Walker Stadium and the Portland Pickles, creating a new soccer home in Southeast Portland alongside the newly launched Portland Cherry Bombs.

And we didn't exactly inherit a stadium.

We built one.

Bleachers. Concessions. Beer. Signage. Picnic tables. Matchday infrastructure. All of it had to come in and go back out.

The result was exactly what we wanted: an intimate, field-level soccer experience with virtually nothing separating supporters from the action.

You weren't watching the Bangers from somewhere up in the stands.

You were basically in it.

PORTLAND KEPT SHOWING UP

The first Bangers season proved there was an appetite in Portland for something different. Home matches sold out, Saucy became an extremely questionable local celebrity, and somehow Stephen Colbert ended up talking about our mascot on national television.

Year two wasn't about recreating that surprise.

It was about building on it.

Fans came back. New fans found us. The Cherry Bombs joined the party next door. Lents became a summer soccer destination, and the atmosphere started to feel less like an experiment and more like a Portland tradition in the making.

YEAR THREE IS NEXT

The Bangers return to USL League Two in 2027.

More soccer. More noise. More Saucy.
